New Food Processing Facility to Utilize Manitoba Resources

Sunbelt Prairie Products Ltd. has announced plans to open a 25,000-square-foot facility in the RM of Rhineland Agricultural Park, which is located in south-central Manitoba, roughly 100 kilometers southwest of Winnipeg. The parent company, ANR Foods/ZEB Rice, is a family-owned business, with its head office in Sweden. It has processing facilities in Sweden, Pakistan, and Canada, specializing in the processing and packaging of pulse and lentil crops that are marketed throughout Europe and North America.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Sunbelt Prairie Products Ltd. to our region. The addition of this company to our community will help to further strengthen our economy, and makes excellent use of the vast agricultural and economic resources of the region,” stated Jim Spencer, general manager of Sunbelt Development Group, the economic development organization that represents the region that lies along the Canada-U.S. border.
